Instructional Tech & Development Manager / Information Technologist II/S

Position Summary

The Instructional Technology and Development Team is responsible for training instructors, staff and students on supported Educational Technology, consulting with instructors on course design and technology integration, and reviewing courses for quality.

The Instructional Technology and Development Manager is key in the development and implementation of MSU’s educational mission. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Instructional Technology and Development, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for assigning service requests and other projects; performing annual reviews for the online and hybrid learning specialists on the team; collaborating on team strategy and tactics; leading projects and collaborating with other teams to advance the goals of the Educational Technology department.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Desired Qualifications

Master's Degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design or related field; experience with the D2L Brightspace LMS; familiarity with the backward design process as well as best practices in regard to online and hybrid course implementation; experience managing projects or people within a higher education setting.
