Director III - Bureau of Environmental Services

This position is exempt from Civil Service and is an "At Will" position. It serves at the discretion of the hiring authority, subject to City of Portland Human Resources Administrative Rules and Portland City Charter and Code.

The Bureau of Environmental Services is a mission-driven, high-performance organization that manages Portland's wastewater and stormwater infrastructure to protect public health and preserving and restoring the health of Portland’s watersheds. 
The City of Portland is recruiting for a highly experienced professional to lead the Bureau of Environmental Services, the city’s wastewater utility.  The Director of the Bureau of Environmental Services is an at-will position, currently reporting to the Commissioner in Charge, and is responsible for managing a highly capable workforce of over 600 union-represented and non-represented full-time equivalent employees.  The bureau has an annual budget of about $650 million and five-year CIP budget of approximately $1 billion.  The Director will be someone whose experience enables them to effectively manage the Office of the Director and the bureau leadership team.
