Environmental Engineer, Physical Scientist, Life Scientist (Program Coordinator)- R10

Summary

This position is in Region 10.

The location will be determined after a selection has been made for the position; if selected, you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis. This is an office-centered position. Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized.


Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:

Assist in planning, development, and implementation of Environmental Protection Programs. Provide program related technical assistance and advice on data analysis, analytical methods, sampling techniques, pollution control requirements, impacts of pollutants, etc. to federal, state, local and/or tribal agencies

Performs recurring, well-precedented projects and tasks using standard methods and techniques.

Determines the adequacy and accuracy of data and processes, proper preservation and collection of samples and specimens, and provides technical assistance where applicable.

Aids other engineers and scientists within the immediate organization by researching technical aspects of EPA laws and regulations.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. NOTE: Career ladder promotions are not automatic, and all eligibility and qualifications requirements must be met in order to progress to the next grade level.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
