State Park Interpreter I - Carpinteria State Beach

The reporting location for this position is the Carpinteria SB Office. This position will work under the direction of the State Park Interpreter III. 
 
The State Park Interpreter I will have the unique opportunity to play a vital role in the department's transformation effort to reduce barriers and engage diverse communities. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating both internal and external partnership and community engagement and public programming activities necessary to create high-quality and relevant State Park visitor interpretive experiences at initially, El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park, and later other district units as assigned. They will have applicable skills in computers, website and social media communications, public presentations and present themselves in a positive manner as the institutional partner and community liaison representing California State Parks' community engagement and public interpretive programs at Channel Coast District. This position will serve as the Relevancy and History Project Lead and work directly with park interpretive and operations staff and University of California faculty and students along with diverse public audiences and constituents. This position requires a valid class C driver’s license.

Pay: $4,276.00 - $5,354 (monthly)
