Do you have an interest in community outreach and event planning? Are you currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate level program at a college or university? The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is seeking two Outreach Interns to assist our Communications Team for the next 12 months. The hours are flexible and will average 20 hours per week. The positions may start off teleworking depending on the current situation of COVID-19 at the time of hire.

Examples of Typical Job Functions
As an Outreach Intern, you will support outreach, events, and communication activities on our Communications Team. Some of your main responsibilities will include planning and supporting outreach events across the Sacramento region, and supporting social media campaigns. You will work with our Communications and External Affairs teams to brainstorm and execute outreach projects with SACOG’s various audiences. 
 
  • Research/produce collateral materials as directed.  
  • Update media contact lists.  
  • Research and develop new ideas for web and social media content.  
  • Plan and execute assigned aspects of special events. 

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate level program at a college or university
  • Interest in community outreach and event planning
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Education and Experience
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  

Possession of a valid California driver's license may be required for some assignments. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
