SET THE COURSE

The Art Department Intern will be a part of the Art Team helping support the seasonal print and pattern development process.  The Intern will have the opportunity to interact with teams involved in design, product management and merchandising, sourcing, and sustainability.

The Internship will last approximately 8 weeks during summer break timeframe.  The start date of the internship will be June 12th.
  • This is a paid internship opportunity. This role is not eligible for benefits.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
  • Create and organize reference documents for purchased and in-house art.
  • Assist as needed with artwork archive system.
  • Scan and clean purchased artwork.
  • Print hard copies of artwork for review.
  • Digitize woven yarn dye patterns (plaids, stripes).
  • Create pattern repeats and color separations to factory specifications.
  • Prepare digital files for artwork development send out.
  • Turn around requests in a timely manner.
  • Flexible for other duties as needed to help support the overall business.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
An expected graduation date of December 2022 or Spring 2023 in Fashion Design or related degree.
  • Knowledge of art techniques and design software (Adobe CC, Procreate, etc.)
  • Experience in creating and presenting illustrations, paintings, or graphics.
  • Self-starter attitude and the ability to be a team player within a fast-paced team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong information seeking-skills and a drive to make things happen
  • Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse group
