Environmental Scientist
NPV currently has an opening for an Environmental Scientist/Ecologist to join our Long Island office to assist with environmental impact analysis, wetland permitting and delineation, habitat assessments, restoration and mitigation projects, coastal consistency evaluations and ecological investigations throughout Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley.
A Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science, wildlife management, biology or a closely related field and proficiency with ArcGIS are pre-requisites for this position. A Master’s degree and experience are preferred, however entry level candidates will also be considered. Working knowledge of environmental regulations including wetlands and SEQRA environmental regulations, NYS botany/wildlife/wetland identification skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD or similar graphic programs are positive attributes for this candidate. Candidates should demonstrate strong work ethic and attention to detail, strong organizational skills and technical writing capabilities, and ability to manage deadlines and accomplish multiple tasks. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required. Salary commensurate with level of education and professional experience.
