NPV is seeking an experienced, self-motivated and energetic Planner to support our work with numerous municipal and private clients.
Responsibilities
- Review development applications on behalf of municipal boards (site and subdivision plans, special use permits), prepare staff reports, review SEQRA forms, and for more senior candidates, attend evening board meetings as staff planner for municipal clients within our region.
- Research and analysis for long range planning/zoning studies.
- Prepare GIS figures and graphic products for reports and presentations.
Skill Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in the principles, practices & techniques of environmental and land use planning, and a working knowledge of New York State land use and environmental regulations. Proficiency in related field including urban design, ecology, hydrology, geology, geography or similar field should be noted.
- Experience in preparation of staff reports, Site Plan and subdivision review
- Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with ESRI GIS.
AICP Certification is preferred.
