As an Administrative Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
  • Apply knowledge of administrative regulations, policies, guidelines, and technical expertise, and knowledge in the assigned functional area, to independently provide robust and streamlined administrative services to the division. Analyze processes and recommend improvements for office procedures.
  • Serve as Government Purchase Card holder. Generate small purchase requisitions, maintain records and reconcile accounts. Assist with end-of-year purchases, including preparation of documents needed for purchase orders and contracts. Track budget expenditures and assist with preparation of Annual Operating Plans and lab transition updates, draft communication and transition plans for priority projects.
  • Apply knowledge of regulations and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) procedures, pertaining to personnel processing, to complete training and personnel action requests. Schedule interviews and prepare pre-employment paperwork, etc. for federal hires. Assist in new employees' orientation. Organize and distribute forms and instructions for annual performance ratings, ensuring their timely, proper completion.
  • Provide logistical support for on-site, multi-day, cross-organizational and/or international meetings. Provide assistance to the logistics staff in shipping of equipment and supplies to remote domestic and foreign locations, and generating appropriate documentation.

This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) with three vacancies in Seattle, WA

This is a term appointment not to exceed 1 year with possible extensions up to a total of 4 years without further competition. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status in the Federal service.
