Global Publications Intern

JOB SUMMARY:
This internship will offer the opportunity to gain an understanding of solid tumor oncology landscape and scientific implications of Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) modality to improve survival in cancer patients. The Global Publications Intern will work closely with experienced industry publications professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, work experience being immersed in the environment of a global medical device company. You will contribute to the business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work and receive exposure to various other functions within the larger Medical Affairs organization and beyond, including medical information, medical communications, scientific training, clinical affairs, project management, field medical, etc.
 
This Global Publications Summer Internship is a temporary, non-exempt paid position, reporting to the Global Publications Manager and will be remote based.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support strategic global publication activities and engage with disease state team leads cross-functionally to update global publication plans and congress plans
  • Contribute to development of TTFields literature alerts and publication summary reports to enhance company-wide education and landscape awareness
  • Support maintenance of Novocure library and publications bibliography to optimize resource updates and utility
  • Serve as a reviewer for publication materials (e.g. abstracts, posters, manuscripts) to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with communication priorities
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities in line with the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) criteria and overall adherence to Good Publication Practice (GPP) guidelines
  • Collaborate with project management team to organize systems/processes to enhance workflow efficiency
 
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Rising Senior in accredited college/university pursuing Bachelor’s scientific degree or related field or at least 2 years of graduate study in PhD, PharmD, MPH or other master’s programs.
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team, effectively manage projects, and present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent leadership and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Candidates need to be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Technical competencies in SharePoint and other information technology systems are highly desirable, as is experience with PubMed databases and other literature databases.
 
OTHER:
  • Must be able to commit to 30-40 hours a week
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds
  • Participate in the Intern Program with other interns; bi weekly lunch & learns, coffee chats, & final presentations
  • Opportunity to travel to the Portsmouth, NH office mid-summer for a two day on site cultural emersion
