The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Financial Assistance has one opening for a Water Resource Control Engineer in the Office of Sustainable Water Solutions. This position is in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations, other public transportation, awesome restaurants and more at 1001 I Street, 16th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814. Currently, this position allows for telework. When necessary to meet operational and business needs, a teleworker must forgo telework if needed in the Sacramento office or on-site on a regularly scheduled telework day.

Duties:
Under the close supervision of a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer, the incumbent will perform a variety of engineering work relating to drinking water systems and wastewater systems in small, disadvantaged communities. The incumbent will help small, disadvantaged communities seeking grants and loans for their drinking water infrastructure projects. Knowledge of drinking water, wastewater treatment systems and water pumping, storage, and distribution facilities is necessary to successfully manage projects in this position. Incumbent is expected to perform good customer service to small, disadvantaged communities and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. In addition, the incumbent will work on a variety of complex professional tasks related to planning, design, construction, management, and implementation of water recycling, quality, protection, and improvement projects. Some travel for inspections will be required.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
