Associate/ Cost Manager

CBRE seeks a Cost Manager to participate in multi-disciplined cost solutions for a Global Financial Services client with direct accountability for cost management and Cost Data Science deliveries. The Cost Manager will work with a nationally dedicated Cost Consultancy team.

JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to manage multi-disciplined cost solutions for one of our most prestigious clients; the biggest US Financial Institution.
You will join our Cost Consultancy (CC) team and have direct accountability for cost management products and deliveries.
Our core suite of digital platforms and tools underpin our service delivery model and through innovation, standardization and automation, we maximize efficiencies for our clients to save time and money.
You will take part in this highly specialized core function.

LOCATION
New York City, Midtown office.
You will work in New York City alongside our Midtown team, as well as our client's HQ.

YOUR DUTIES
Manage multiple facets of our in-house Cost Data Science Process.
 
Manages multiple facets of Cost Management throughout planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
 
Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance to coworkers.
 
VISA REQUIREMENTS  
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future (i.e. CPT/ OPT is not accepted for this role).
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from a College or University in a technical area of study (Engineering or Architecture)
 
Masters in construction engineering-related studies is preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE  
 
4 years of related experience and/or training is preferred; willing to consider candidates with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
 
Previous estimating and/or quantity surveying and take-off experience is preferred. 
 
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES  
RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) or CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) accreditation is preferred.
DESIRED SKILL-SETS
The ability to read and understand architectural drawings is strongly desired. 
Knowledge of contracts and construction practices is preferred.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
Knowledge of estimating software such as OST is preferred.
The ability to organize and analyze current and historical cost data and trends is crucial. 
Requires advanced quantitative skills, and strong organizational and robust analytical skills.
Advanced MS Excel knowledge is needed. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Presentation skills; ability to effectively present information.
Innovative skills; through utilizing other software, programming languages or tools.
Fast-paced and nimble with high attention to detail and has a high bar for quality products.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
Desire to learn and to constantly grow.
