NRDC is seeking an Entertainment Partnership Intern to work with the Communications Team in our New York office.
Position Summary
The Entertainment Partnerships team aims to shift the cultural narrative around the climate crisis through pop culture, entertainment, art and storytelling to drive action and accelerate solutions to build a cleaner, healthier, more just and equitable world for people everywhere.
NRDC is seeking an Entertainment Partnership Intern to work with the Communications Team in our New York office. Our work increases awareness and provides advocacy opportunities for priority environmental issues through partnerships across entertainment including media, artists, celebrities, writers, music and film festivals, cultural institutions and social media.
The Entertainment Partnerships team works to:
- Attract new, young and diverse audiences
- Grow NRDC brand recognition and affinity
- Increase issue awareness around priority areas of work including (but not limited to) climate, safe water and clean air, public health, nature and community resilience
- Partner across communications and throughout the institution to leverage a variety of channels to enact strategic partnership opportunities.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a summer intern who can help on a variety of projects across our partnerships team. The intern will also support NRDC’s Rewrite the Future Initiative which aims to help Hollywood tell more compelling stories about the climate crisis through industry dialogue and education, climate story consultation, and help with project development.
The internship will focus on supporting events, our NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship, our music, influencer and gaming work, and other projects. Responsibilities may include performing research, brainstorming partner opportunities, drafting social copy, pitch notes, and recap documents, etc. in support of key partnership activities. This person will report directly to the Director of Entertainment Partnerships, and work collaboratively with a seven-person Partnerships team.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, set priorities, follow institutional procedures and perform undirected work
- Close attention to detail and follow through on tasks
- Must possess a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the Google suite of products
- Experience or interest in pop culture, visual arts, and/or the entertainment industry
- Interest or experience with social media (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) a plus
- Interest in environmental issues or social justice advocacy a plus
