PAID INTERNSHIP| COLLECTIONS INTERN [POLISH MUSEUM]
Intern Responsibilities:
The intern, after attending an overview at DePaul University Art Museum (which has a large Polish poster collection from the 1950’s) would prepare a report as to the organizational state of the PMA collection. The goal is to meet best practices standards as laid out in the “New Museum Registration Methods”.
- The intern would make corrections and integrate any new posters into the collection.
- In addition to integrating the collection, the intern would take photo/scans of new additions.
- Currently the PMA is open during four days a week, closed on Wednesday.
- While we are an ethnic institution, knowledge of Polish is not necessary.
- Staff are bi-lingual and would help the intern in translating matters.
Intern Job skills needed.
- Basic Computer skills to include e-mail and some form of spreadsheet applications.
- Writing skills to write clearly to answer written inquiries and initiate correspondence.
- Speaking skills for daily interaction with staff and to prepare the final project briefing.
- Photo skills to include photo taking and editing for the project.
