Social Media & Digital Communications Intern

Social media and digital communications intern (Summer full time)
Summer 2023 (with the possibility of extension as part time in the fall)
Begins June 1, 2023 and ends August 8, 2023
Currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree
This is an exciting opportunity for a social media and communications enthusiast to join our communications and creative team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has a passion for learning, is interested in social issues and gender equality.

You will be responsible for assisting in a wide range of communication campaigns for the ERA Coalition.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Have a keen interest and aptitude for social media and digital marketing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Knowledge and familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook platforms and trends
  • Own a smartphone with camera and video functions
  • Comfortable speaking in front of the camera to record short videos for TikTok, Reels and Shorts
  • Video editing skills highly desired 
  • Must be creative and proactive

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Social Media Strategist and the Communications Director and assist with digital and social communications strategy 
  • Create scripts and 2 videos a day per week for TikTok
  • Repost on YouTube and Reels 
  • Research topics around equality, social justice, and the ERA
  • Write blog posts
  • Support the communications Director on projects for the Coalition and the Fund including regular website updates, writing and editing of twice monthly newsletters, etc.
  • Help with social media copy for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin
  • Update and maintain content calendar
  • Attend events and take pictures/videos for the ERA Coalition
