Construction Laborer - NC
RES is looking for a Construction Laborer based out of our Greensboro, NC office.
The primary function of the Laborer is to assist construction crews complete stream, wetland, and stormwater restoration projects. This will consist of manual labor tasks that will require working in various different weather conditions and will require heavy lifting of items up to 50lbs, installing erosion control fabrics and materials, and assisting operators in installing structures. Please note that we work outside and sometimes are exposed to the elements, wild animals, and poisonous plants!
We are looking for professionals with a strong sense of dedication to project flow and completion. This individual will also need to have a team player mentality, as you will be maintaining a positive working relationship with co-workers.
What your day-to-day might look like?
In the field, you will be doing the following:
- Installing Erosion Control Matting on stream banks
- Installing geotextile fabrics on road bases, pipe ditches, and stream structures.
- Installing silt fence.
- Operate small equipment such as tractors and ATV’s to assist in seeding and planting operations.
- Run chainsaws, jumping jack compactors, hand rakes, hammers, and more, to assist in clearing, compacting, soil preparation, and other operations.
- Seeding and strawing large construction sites and establishing vegetation on disturbed areas.
Qualifications
We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- High School degree or equivalent
- Experience or interest in construction and/or landscape work
- Willingness to work outside in various conditions to complete construction projects across the region.
What will make you stand out:
- Experience installing erosion control measures on environmental and civil construction sites.
- Experience with understanding engineered blueprint drawings and specifications
- Experience in natural resource or water resource infrastructure
