Solar Vegetation Project Manager

RES
RES is seeking a Solar Vegetation Project Manager for our Midwest region. The position is remote and will be supporting work throughout South/Central Illinois and Indiana as well as Missouri with opportunities to base out of our regional offices in Hillsdale, IN or St Louis, MO. Traveling of up to 75% of the time is to be expected.
The mission:  to assist with the facilitation of Utility Scale Solar site stabilization and vegetation projects, ensure timely execution through organization of project components and completion of the projects within budget.

What your day-to-day might look like?

You will be planning, managing, and implementing all aspects of solar site vegetation and stabilization work and will report project progress, issues, concerns, to the Solar PM Team. Approximately 60% of your time will be field and jobsite-focused.
During your site visits, you will coordinate with RES’ solar project management teams (e.g., measuring quantities, alerting to needs for Change Order), Safety teams, owners, general contractors, and subcontractors (scheduling, scope, confirming work completion etc.). 
You will be facing customers, and regularly communicating with engineers, construction managers, assigned to the project.
You will also coordinate with the field teams, sometimes assisting them to find solutions and alternatives in field operations with vegetation implementation tasks such as seeding, mowing, and herbicide applications, GPS surveys, and production tracking.
You will also oversee the administration of projects. This includes budget generation, creation and upkeep of project and job books, maintaining a construction & maintenance daily log for the job, setting up P. O’s & running AP approvals, setting up Credit Applications on all new vendor accounts, materials ordering and staging, and timesheet reviews.
You will also assist with bidding and proposal writing.

Qualifications

We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in heavy/civil construction project management, applied sciences, engineering, or similar field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a heavy/civil construction, applied sciences, or engineering field.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, strong attention to detail, and ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Experience in large site stabilization and vegetation projects. 
  • Experience working on large civil/site projects.
  • Experience managing and coordinating subcontracting teams.
  • Understanding of Agricultural and Civil heavy equipment.
