Do you have a passion for protecting the environment and ensuring the sustainability of our natural resources? The Central Coast Water Board is seeking a motivated Environmental Scientist to join our team in San Luis Obispo, California. In this position, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our Basin Plan, which outlines water quality objectives for the Central Coast Region.

The Basin Plan is a comprehensive plan that establishes water quality objectives and implementation measures for the Central Coast Region and is critical to protecting the region's water resources and ensuring that they remain safe and healthy for human use and ecological function. The Basin Plan addresses a wide range of water quality issues, including sediment and erosion control, nutrient management, and pollution prevention, among others. The Central Coast Water Board is responsible for implementing the Basin Plan, and the Environmental Scientist will play a critical role in protecting water quality throughout the entire Central Coast Region.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
