Staff Services Analyst (JC 373158)

This is a Limited Term (LT) position and may be extended up to 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. If becoming permanent, the selected candidate must have eligibility for a permanent appointment at the time of the LT appointment or at the time of the conversion.

The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Rights (Division) has an opening for a Staff Services Analyst in the Reporting and Quality Assurance Unit. This unit is responsible for collecting and maintaining Water Rights data stored in the electronic water rights information system database (eWRIMS) and Report Management System (RMS). The position is located at 1001 I Street, 14th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation with flexible telework options available.
 
The Data Management Analyst will be responsible for the following:
  1. Analyzing and processing change of ownership, contact information update and supplemental statement for change request forms submitted by water right owners and diverters.
  2. Responding to inquiries from the public regarding questions about water rights and annual water use reporting.
  3. Analyzing and processing Statements of Water Diversion and Use, including plotting data in a geospatial database.
  4. Serving as a fee analyst responsible for verifying the accuracy of accounts related to water rights fees.
  5. Preparing reports and completing research assignments related to water rights records.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
