Construction Equipment Operator

RES
RES is looking for a Construction Equipment Operatorbased out of our Columbus OH office. 
Our Operators work on a variety of stream and wetland restoration projects. This team works across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, on stream-building tasks, therefore grading skills are paramount for this job, as well as the ability to get the job completed within tight timeframes and difficult conditions. The team works outside come rain or come shine and is exposed to insects including ticks and mosquitoes, or poisonous plants such as poison ivy. You might need to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Work is seasonally steady and requires 50 hours and up to 65 per week for peak months in summer, with opportunities for weekend work during peak periods. Our teams travel up to 80% within the region including overnight stays of 1-5 nights for some job sites.

What your day-to-day might look like?

In the field, you will be operating equipment, including excavators (10,000 lbs.- 60,000 lbs.), tracked dump trucksbulldozersskid loaders, and ATVs. Experience driving large pick-up trucks and hauling trailers will also be helpful. You will also be operating hand tools such as chainsaws and gas-powered brush cutters & augers.
The main tasks to execute are the following:
  • Assure grade is within allotted tolerances by utilizing survey equipment.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Install and maintain E&S BMPs to ensure site compliance.
  • Clearing and tree felling

Qualifications

We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years operating an excavator.
  • Some experience operating equipment other than an excavator
What will make you stand out?
  • Two years of field experience in ecological restoration, land development, stormwater management, or utilities
  • CDL License
  • Experience using survey equipment, GPS, Trimble, or Topcon
