The State Water Resource Control Board’s Division of Financial Assistance has two openings for Water Resource Control Engineers in the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund Branch, Site Cleanup Subaccount Program.

Duties:
Under the close supervision of the Senior Water Resource Control Engineer or Senior Engineering Geologist in the Site Cleanup Subaccount Program, the incumbent is expected to manage grants and contracts and provide engineering consultation related to site investigation and remediation of contaminants in soil and groundwater. Develop conceptual site models for each site to perform technical evaluations of site investigations, vapor mitigation systems, bench-scale studies, pilot testing, remedial action plans, remedial designs, and operation and maintenance activities. Review technical documents including workplans, field investigation summary reports, feasibility studies, and remediation progress and system optimization reports, and provide technical input to regulators and consultants. Facilitate communication and lead Joint Execution Team meetings with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders to discuss the technical status of existing and proposed projects. Manage grants and contracts including scope, schedule, budget, and review of invoices.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
