Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk- Carle Place, NY

EMSL Analytical, Inc., one of the largest environmental testing firms in the United States, is currently seeking a Full Time Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk for its Carle Place, NY lab location. This is an administrative support position for an environmental testing laboratory. This position is full time and offers the chance to work with a steady, growing, company that offers the opportunity to advance within the organization. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system for all laboratory divisions.
Receive environmental samples, handle, sign for and time stamp incoming packages via overnight carrier, USPS, courier and walk in clients.
Handle, sort, count and prioritize incoming environmental samples under laboratory hood.
Inspect environmental samples to ensure sample integrity is retained and that the packaging is not compromised
Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness.
Make sure all samples are placed in the proper storage area to await analysis.
Monitor, update and preserve 60 day storage and long term storage and discard of environmental samples when needed.
Package and ship environmental samples to clients
Answer high volume phone calls and interface with clients.
Assist with customer service client questions via phone and e-mail.
Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff.
Clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, assisting clients, scanning, and mailing as necessary.
Identify, interpret and arrange number sequences.
Critical Thinking skills and the ability to work independently are a plus.

Requirements:
High School degree or equivalent; Associates Degree/Some College Coursework completed is a plus.
One to three years’ experience with high volume data entry is desired.
Previous experience with chain of custody documents is a plus.
Must be proficient in MS Office 2000 and must be able to type 50 words per minute.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele.
Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
Must be a team player.
Must be able to prioritize work assignments.
Must be organized and have attention to detail.
Must be able to lift min of 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand and sit for various lengths of time.

Available Shifts:
Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
