Laboratory Analyst (Materials Science)- Salem, NH
EMSL Analytical, Inc., one of the largest environmental testing firms in the United States, is currently seeking a Full Time Laboratory Analyst for its Materials Science department in its laboratory located in Salem, NH.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Utilize various methods such as light (PLM, RLM, Stereo) and electron microscopy (SEM/EDX, TEM/EDX), XRD, XRF, and FTIR for various applications.
Design experiments to provide analytical data and interpretation to solve problems requested by customers.
Involved with project planning, scientific data interpretation and regulatory/client audits.
Interact with both internal and external customers to understand project requirements and plan workflow.
Summarize the analytical data upon completion and generate final reports.
Responsible for equipment maintenance and qualification, and interaction with vendor service and application support.
Effective verbal/written communication skills, self-motivated, well-organized, and constructive, effective team player.
Non-academic diversified experience with materials science is strongly preferred.
Requirements:
Bachelors of Science in Materials Science, Geology, Metallurgy, or Forensic Science.
Three plus years' of hands-on analytical experience in commercial lab setting a plus.
Candidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.
Hands-on experience with SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRF, XRD and thermal analysis is a plus.
Must be able to work well independently and with a team.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to multi-task.
Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
