Program Director
This position involves recruiting, training and screening adult volunteers and matching them one-to-one with youth. Responsibilities also include interviewing and screening the youth, providing follow-up support once each match is made, planning training workshops and planning and implementing a community-based activities program. The Director is a prominent face of Young Warriors and will also act as an ambassador when in other social environments.
- Manage a caseload of up to eight programs youth and adults;
- Finish tasks and assignments on time and effective;
- Communicate and assist the school’s liaison for program effectiveness;
- Communicate with the parent educator to stay current in evaluating the youth;
- Recruit volunteers from the community to work with the youth that are referred;
- Plan and implement all program activities for Young Warriors groups;
- Plan three round table sessions or training workshops per year for the mentors;
- Assist in other programmatic functions as required, such as special events that support the program;
- Maintain ongoing communication about our services to supporting agencies;
- Communicate schedule and agendas to volunteers mentors and liaisons;
- Work with other program staff (both paid and volunteer) to coordinate the best effort on behalf of each young person and to provide support for other special projects;
- Represent the agency in the community and on other committees;
- Communicate with volunteers and youth regarding activities, workshops, etc.;
- Provide required input to bi-monthly activity newsletter; and
- Develop new community recreation sponsors to provide free/discount services for the program i.e. food, toys, and other free items that will benefit Young Warriors.
- Pick up Transportation (Vans) for the Program in a timely manner for Field-Trips
