Volunteer Director


General Statement of Duties

The Volunteer Director is an unpaid virtual volunteer position responsible for overseeing and coordinating the volunteer program within the organization. They play a vital role in ensuring the recruitment, onboarding, placement, management, and retention of volunteers. This includes establishing effective communication channels, providing support and guidance to volunteers, and collaborating with staff members to integrate volunteers into organizational activities. The Volunteer Director also maintains accurate records, implements training and development initiatives, and evaluates the effectiveness of volunteer programs.
In this role, the Volunteer Director directly contributes to Young Warrior's vision of promoting social impact to end trauma and improve children's lives. They support the organization's advocacy, awareness, and education initiatives, focusing on predetermined issues such as child abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, bullying, cyberbullying, domestic violence, foster care, child safety, fatherlessness, at-risk youth, poor grades, dropouts, gangs, drugs, incarceration, addiction, homelessness, high crime, suicide, and oppression on POC.By fulfilling their duties, the Volunteer Director actively contributes to making a positive impact and creating a better future for the communities and individuals Young Warriors serves.

Duties and responsibilities 
  • Volunteer onboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process for new volunteers.
  • Volunteer management: Provide support, guidance, and recognition to volunteers.
  • Volunteer communication: Maintain effective communication with volunteers.
  • Volunteer retention: Implement strategies to ensure volunteer satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaboration with staff: Work closely with organizational staff for coordination.
