Associate Cybersecurity Engineers

Our Associate Cybersecurity Engineers will support our Cybersecurity Engineering Operations Team. This Team is the 24x7x365 team that manages, monitors, and maintains all cybersecurity capabilities that Southwest utilizes to protect Southwest from Cyber Threats. You will have the opportunity to support on of the following, Identity and Access management, Network and Endpoint Security, or Federated Identity and the Cloud. 

As an Associate Cybersecurity Engineer, you can expect to: 

  • Assist with delivering Cybersecurity solutions that protect Southwest Airlines 
  • Work alongside focused groups adhering to Agile principles 
  • Create and refresh solutions that happen in AWS and utilize a maturing common platform 
  • Expect a mix of Enterprise integration and platform development.

Associate Technology Analysts

Our Associate Analysts are individuals with a Heart for People and Technology who demonstrate a passion for helping our business Customers solve their most difficult technical challenges. Serving as a liaison between Technology and the business, our Associate Analysts conduct business analysis, perform process modeling and redesign, and recommend alternative actions for problems while focusing on internal and external Customer requirements. Associate Analysts help Southwest Airlines keep costs low by making data-driven decisions, all while implementing the tools and technologies that allow our business Customers the ability to maintain our world-famous Customer Service. As an Associate Technology Analyst, you can expect to:

As an Associate Software Engineer, you can expect to:

Associate Data Engineers

Our Associate Data Engineers will support our Integrated Data Foundation (IDF) Business Data Delivery Team. This Team is the expert in data analytics focused on the Customer and Commercial space, where we design powerful dashboards and reports that empower business leaders. Our commitment to modernization maintains our competitive edge in the ever-changing business world. We also engage in various project initiatives and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, enabling data analysis across different departments within Southwest Business Teams to drive closed-loop revenue enhancement. 

As an Associate Data Engineer, you can expect to: 

  • Provide technical support with supervision for design and deployment of a data engineering solution 
  • Play a role in the building of analytical solutions and updating systems to accommodate changes. 

Qualifications: 

  • Required: Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in: 
  • Cloud infrastructure, DataLake, AbInitio 
  • ETL experience ensuring source to target data integrity. 
  • Various file types (Delimited Text, Fixed Width, XML, JSON, Parque)

Associate System Engineers

Our Associate System Engineers will support our Revenue Management Technology (RMT) Team. Revenue Management (RM), or Yield Management, determines how many seats to make available at each fare level for each flight departure with a goal of maximizing revenue. Demand varies in different markets, for different people, and at different points in time. Revenue Management plays an important role in the security, survival, and profitability of Southwest Airlines by applying the principle of saving as many seats as possible in the higher fare classes for Customers willing and able to pay these fares. 

As an Associate System Engineer, you can expect to: 

  • Evaluate, develop, customize, install, and implement functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated systems in accordance with Customer requirements, and organizational methodologies and standards 
  • Work in partnership with vendors to respond to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas 

Qualifications: 

  • Required: Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in system engineering 
  • Preferred: Knowledge of or exposure to Java
