This position is an entry level Application Developer responsible for supporting the Agency's application systems using Web and Cloud development tools and methods. Using written standards, senior guidance, and foundational knowledge of Web development, modern object-oriented languages and related Web technology, this position works closely with Business Experts to analyze issues, assist with requirements gathering, design, code, test and deploy enhancements and corrections to the software and reports in DNR’s Web application domain. This in turn supports the Division’s mission to provide innovative, sustainable and high-quality information technology solutions and services in support of the Agency’s business programs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide software application development and maintenance support for DNR’s Web Applications and interfaces to external systems by working with Business Experts to troubleshoot issues and provide programming solutions involving Web and Cloud system application code.
  • Provide support to the Lead Web application developer as they set direction and enforce best practices for system development and support technologies to best meet the Agency’s needs.
  • Follow and contribute to the updates of Web and Cloud development standards and guidelines. Under direction from supervisor or senior team member, conduct research & development (R&D) and provide basic consultation and training to other Agency developers in the use of development tools.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in computer science, information systems, or related field, PLUS 1 year of experience in the following areas:
    • Experience designing and programming web-based applications using ASP.NET and C#.
    • Experience with JavaScript frameworks, XML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, web services, PL/SQL and/or T-SQL.
    • Experience troubleshooting all types of technical issues and providing support on web applications, systems, and cloud software, using tools such as Windows Event Viewer, Charles, and/or Fiddler.
    • Experience working with UI creation

           OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.

 

  • Knowledge and experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to develop and achieve department and project goals.
