Position Type: Intern (June 2024 - August 2024)

Position Summary: The Machine Learning Intern (Multi-Domain Data Fusion for Pilot Training) will work on researching and developing prototypes for emerging capabilities in human-AI teaming regarding the NAVAIR SBIR N2-8104, Multi-Domain Data Fusion Instructional Strategies and Methods for Pilot Training, otherwise known as FortiFly.ai. They will work towards developing upon existing bodies of ML research or identifying new areas of technological/engineering investment that are relevant to our roadmap through designing experiments and rigorously validating them. These capabilities will aim to advance pilot training and reduce cognitive burden for users of future advanced autonomous systems in a task-saturated environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work within simulation environments and operate over the simulated sensor returns across disparate domains of data from our autonomous agents
  • Develop novel ML models for proprietary and third party simulation environments
  • Iterate over human-centered design visualizations of ML model returns to ensure a reduction in cognitive load
  • Design end-to-end experiments and validate outputs
  • Generate detailed technical reports that summarize findings with repeatable trials
  • Work with production-grade ML models and identify improvements over time

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Python and C++
  • Experience working with tabular and unstructured data
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles and fundamentals
  • Knowledge and experience with designing and validating ML-based experiments
  • Strong understanding of ML fundamentals
  • Experience working with production-grade ML models

Preferred Skills:
