Farm Service Agency - Agricultural Program Specialist (Recent Graduate)

This position is a Recent Graduate vacancy meant to hire recent college graduates to develop key skills and knowledge needed for the Agricultural Program Specialist (1145 series) line of work within the Farm Service Agency.

Recent graduates from a qualifying educational institution having completed an academic program within the preceding two years OR will be receiving a degree or certificate within 120 days of closing date of this announcement. Note: Veterans who were precluded by their military service obligation from meeting this requirement will have up to six years to apply.

Job Duties

• Analyze and interpret provisions on current and proposed national program policies, procedures and regulations to determine their applicability to and impact on program administration in the State.
• Attend meetings and develop and maintain contacts with various governmental agencies, producers and trade organizations.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance as needed with programs' and automated applications.
• Applies knowledge of agency programs and eligibility requirements.
• This position works in a developmental capacity receiving on-the-job training in the administration of agricultural programs.
