About our Intern Program

During this paid 10-week internship, you’ll develop technical skills through meaningful project work and unique learning experiences. Work with our team of Sr. Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Managers on building new products and experiences for LegalZoom customers. 

Our interns will connect and engage with senior leaders from across the business and be paired with a mentor for a more meaningful experience. Attend fun team building and professional workshops and brown bags.  

This internship is a hybrid position, meaning you’ll work from home and in the office. Our offices are in Mountain View and Glendale, CA, so applicants must live within the LA Metro or the SF Bay Area.

Overview

We are looking for a Data Scientist Intern that will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better products. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with various programming languages and tools, research and implement new technologies, and contribute to the overall success of the team. 

You will 

• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Conducting exploratory data analysis and visualizing data insights
• Assist in developing custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineers, product managers, and business analysts
• Developing and implementing statistical models to analyze data, and make predictions
• Attend regular team meetings
• Produce work required 

You have

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar fields
• Experience with one or more of the following technologies: SQL, Python, Dashboarding, or Tableau
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
• Ability and experience in extracting insights from data, and summarizing learnings/takeaways
• Experience working on web analytics (behavioral analytics)
• Solid understanding of source data, its strengths, weaknesses, semantics, and formats; solid knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional)
• Someone willing to contribute new ideas and articulate them to a variety of business partners and not just execute on existing ones
• Proactive, problem-solving, highly organized, and detail-oriented person, able to work independently or collaboratively 
• Strong communication skills - both written and verbally
• Previous internship experience preferred 
• Remote Employees should confirm that the internet service available has adequate bandwidth to support all work processes

LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is  ($38.93 - $47.48 per hour). Actual compensation offered will depend on geographic location.
