The Telemetry Research Unit (TRU) is a collaborative team working on technical studies of water telemetry monitoring and supporting database development under the project UPWARD. TRU is seeking two Water Resource Control Engineers (WRCE) who will be responsible for working with a multi-disciplinary team to: assess water telemetry best practices; develop and implement monitoring plans; and retrieve, ingest, analyze, report, summarize, and present monitoring data.  The WRCE is required to work independently, think creatively, and communicate effectively.

Both positions are located at 1001 I Street, 14th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation. These positions are required by current policy to work in the Sacramento office twice a month and as required by the supervisor. Other work days are eligible for telework, conditional on supervisor approval and are subject to change based on operational needs or department changes. 

Duties:

The Water Resource Control Engineer (WRCE) is responsible for working with a multi-disciplinary team to assess water telemetry best practices; develop and implement monitoring plans; and retrieve, ingest, analyze, report, summarize, and present monitoring data. The WRCE is required to work independently, think creatively, and communicate effectively.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
