Augmented Reality Designer (Cinema 4D)

An Augmented Reality Designer is capable of “filling in” motion-tracked cell-phone footage with 3D elements & characters that look realistic and fit into the environment from the cell-phone footage to create an end result that will “fool” millions of people across Social Media & Television.

We will provide all necessary assets needed to compile the scene (pretracked fbx of camera movement, motion-capture fbx of rigged character, etc.)

This is a long-term project for one of the largest multinational corporations in the skincare and cosmetics industry.

The Augmented Reality Designer will be handed off a Cinema 4D scene with a tracked camera and backplate of a sequence shot on a cell-phone. The Designer will also be handed off professionally tracked motion-capture data in the form of an animated mesh of our character. The Designer will collaborate with the Director to understand the concept. The Designer will then use all the tools at their disposal to bring the concept to life within Cinema 4D.

Ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of:

  • Tenets of Photorealism
  • Modeling
  • PBR texturing within Redshift
  • C4D physics simulation
  • Particle Simulation within C4D or XParticles
  • Volume Building
  • Keyframe Animation
  • Working with Animated Characters & Motion Clips
  • Cloning & Proxies
  • Camera Settings
  • Render Settings.

The Designer should work smart, not hard:

  • If it's smarter to download and kitbash a 3D model to create an asset for the sequence, then the Designer will do that instead of modeling it from scratch.
  • The Designer will use procedural texturing techniques, as opposed to texturing by hand.
  • If rigging or animation needs to be done, the Designer will use tools such as AutoRig and Mixamo
  • If it is faster to render Progressively at a lower sample count and higher resolution with OptiX enabled, then the Designer will choose to do that instead of traditional Bucket rendering.

You will be working under an experienced Technical Director who will guide and aid you at every step.
