The State Water Resource Control Board’s Division of Information Technology has an opening for an Information Technology Specialist II in the Business Operations Support Branch of Division of Information Technology. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 8th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations, other public transportation, restaurants and more.

Duties:
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I of the Business Operations Support Branch in the Division of Information Technology (DIT) and consistent with good customer service practice and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent works independently on the most complex enterprise and departmental databases and applications. The incumbent will act as a lead Application Architect responsible for architecting and migrating the agency’s enterprise Java EE, JBoss, Oracle, ASP.Net, C#, IIS, and MSSQL-based systems to new cloud-based architecture and provide web application development support services for the most complex web enterprise application systems. The incumbent will provide migration support, including migration analysis, implementation, maintenance, and operations of the converted application and database technologies. The incumbent is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, documentation, and operations of the agency’s most complex custom web application systems utilizing Java EE, ASP.Net, C#, MVC, AJAX, JavaScript, IIS, Enterprise Java Beans, Java Server Pages, Java Server Faces, Hibernate, Oracle, MSSQL, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), jQuery, ArcGIS JavaScript API, Web Services, Red Hat Linux (RHL), and Windows Server. The position requires the incumbent to be courteous, communicate effectively and professionally (verbally and in writing) with team members and customers, provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments.

The incumbent will provide services from IT domains, including Software Engineering, System Engineering, Information Security Engineering, Information Technology Project Management, and Business Technology Management.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
