The State Water Resources Control Board’s, Office of Enforcement (OE) is recruiting for a Senior Environmental Scientist. This position location is 801 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 in the heart of downtown Sacramento. The building is a short 5-minute walk to CalEPA headquarters and is conveniently located near public transportation. 801 K Street has on-site permitted parking for a month rate and secure indoor bicycle parking.

Duties: 
The Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) is responsible to plan, organize, and provide guidance on environmental justice initiatives for the State and Regional Water Boards. This position requires the incumbent to work independently and professionally with staff, management, and the public in both inperson and remote settings. The incumbent will represent the Water Boards on the CalEPA Environmental Justice Task Force.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
