Wildlife Biologist/NEPA Writer

Rabe Consulting is currently seeking an entry level Wildlife Biologist/NEPA Writer with an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology, or a related field, to join our team. As an Wildlife Biologist and NEPA Writer, you will help develop and edit environmental reports (specifically biological reports), conduct wildlife surveys, assist with research and data collection for projects, complete field work, and help with any other client needs for environmental services that Rabe Consulting provides. In this role you will receive the proper training to independently complete tasks given to you by Senior Environmental Consultants or the Project Manager. This is a full-time position starting at $22/hr dependent upon experience level. Rabe Consulting offers health benefits that can be discussed. This position is completely remote with travel to field work locations. You must be able to work in either PST or MST time zones. Exact days and hours are flexible and based on your schedule.

 

Rabe Consulting is conducting owl calling in Oregon from May-September and is looking for staff to join the owl survey team. Lodging can be provided by Rabe Consulting during the survey period if needed. Your Role:

  • Writing and editing biological and NEPA deliverables for solar, renewables, fiber-optics, and residential, and city planning projects.
  • Conducting wildlife surveys.
  • Researching and documenting project initiatives and permitting.
  • Conducting industry specific research.
  • Completing applications for permitting.
  • Drafting maps and graphics for deliverables.
  • Working with team members to complete tasks.
  • General organizational and administrative support, including formatting documents, and organizing reports.
  • Conduct additional fieldwork.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology or a related field.
  • Experience with technical writing.
  • Expert in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Field work experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of renewables.
  • Open to working on a wide range of tasks.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work completely remote with potential travel.
