About the Opportunity:

Summer Research Fellows will support the Reproductive & Maternal Health Compass (RMH Compass), a new initiative launched by Gender IDEAL (a 501c3 founded in 2020), in gathering data from the largest U.S. employers on the RMH benefits they provide to workers.   This data will be used to launch the first-ever RMH@Work Corporate Index, the first rating of U.S. employers on their RMH benefits.   Three Research Fellows will manage all aspects of data collection and relationship management for approximately 30 companies over the course of a 10 week fellowship.

Using the standard developed by RMH Compass, Research Fellows will search public sources to identify RMH related benefits and policies at individual companies.  Research Fellows will be the primary contact between RMH Compass and the company, cultivating relationships by explaining what the RMH Compass is, the purpose of the RMH@Work Index, answering questions and encouraging company participation in the RMH@Work Index.

The RMH@Work Index uses a similar approach as HRC’s Corporate Equality Index.  Our goal is to raise awareness of what best-in-class RMH benefits are, which employers provide these benefits, and how all employers can meet a high-standard.

About You:

You are driven with a passion for reproductive and maternal health access, excited to engage America’s largest employers on their RMH health benefit provisions, and willing to be persistent in this pursuit.  You are able to write and communicate using formal business language.  You are a creative self-starter, comfortable tackling projects independently and seeking solutions expansively.  You are organized and comfortable with research and data.  You work well in collaborative settings and want to learn about the ways that the reproductive justice movement can activate U.S. employers.
