VA 124660 Logistics. Officers in the Logistics career specialty conduct materiel life-cycle management, procurement, warehouse and distribution operations, property accountability, maintenance support, and travel/transportation services. They manage the transport of materiel and personnel in support of Agency operations worldwide, and maximize effective and efficient use of transportation resources to meet customer needs. Logistics officers monitor and sustain policy, procedure, and processes related to Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E) combined with an effective internal controls program that meets auditability, accountability, and compliance standards. DIA relies on Logistics officers to plan and manage the movement of people, supplies and equipment, anytime and anywhere globally. Officers in this specialty are full spectrum and provide services such as auditing, acquisition, inventory management, property accountability, storage and distribution, travel and transportation services, operational and maintenance support. In addition, logistics officers develop contingency plans to support DIA, Intelligence Community and Department of Defense contingency logistics requirements. We are looking for candidates with logistics experience in one or more of the following sectors, military, federal government, academia and private, along with the ability to establish positive working relationships while communicating effectively orally and in writing. Desired candidates are customer focused and embrace innovation through business modernization and automation.
Supply Management Specialist (Occupational Series 2003). Applies technical knowledge and skills to ensure standards of efficiency, timeliness, and security are maintained throughout the Agency supply chain. Performs procurement, inventory management, storage, transportation/distribution, property accountability and maintenance and disposal services in support of Agency global mission.
Logistics Management Specialist (Occupational Series 0346). Employs logistics skills such as life-cycle management, procurement, warehouse and distribution operations, property accountability, maintenance support, and transportation services to develop effective logistics solutions. Monitors and sustains policy, procedure and processes related to Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E) combined with an effective internal control program that meets auditability, accountability, and compliance standards
Transportation Specialist* (Occupational Series 2101). Oversees and manages the transport of materiel and personnel in support of Agency operations worldwide. Maximizes effective and efficient use of transportation and fleet resources to meet customer needs. Applies knowledge of vehicle requirements and life-cycle costs to contribute to the acquisition and maintenance of Agency owned and leased vehicles.
