Please note: this position is paid on an hourly basis and limited to 1500 hours per calendar year. The salary range for Scientific Aid is $17.73 - $21.04 per hour.
The State Water Resources Control Board’s, Los Angeles Region, has an opening for a Scientific Aid in the Watershed Regulatory Section. The position location is 320 W. 4th Street, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
Duties:
The Scientific Aid assists National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit writers in reviewing technical reports, compiles, and analyzes data for development of permit effluent limitations. In addition, assists staff in responding to technical inquiries regarding NPDES files. The Scientific Aid assists staff in coordinating file reviews requested by consultants, lawyers, and the public. The Scientific Aid pulls and reinstates files from file rooms after file reviews by public. The Scientific Aid assists staff in filing documents to appropriate files and maintains localized file database.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
