Remediation Project Geologist

Remediation Project Geologist / Engineer 

The Department of Environmental Quality's Land Division is seeking a qualified candidate to provide project management and oversight for environmental remediation projects within the Office of Remediation Programs: the Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP), RCRA Corrective Action, Superfund, and Federal Facilities. The position provides technical support for groundwater monitoring programs at hazardous waste management facilities and other projects as assigned. Reviews and processes complex technical, program- and project-specific documents including work plans, reports, conceptual site models, studies, final remedy decisions, and implementation plans. Oversees site characterization, remedy implementation, and response actions, and monitors progress towards completion. Ensures the project elements are in accordance with technical and program requirements, best engineering practices, established guidelines and policies, and applicable laws and regulations. The position applies pollution prevention technology where possible, promotes efficacy of final remedy decisions, and works with project stakeholders to resolve regulatory and technical issues efficiently, openly, fairly, and consistently.  Hiring Range: $75,000 - $90,000.  For more information and how to apply visit Search Page (virginia.gov)on or before the closing date, August 9, 2024, at 11:55 EDT.
