Duties

• Designs, develops, modifies, and manages Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. Creates and maintains plans, specifications, and documentation.
• Monitors and optimizes database performance and tunes database operations as required.
• Generates complex queries and reports and participates in the design of data mining and data warehousing systems.
• Incumbent researches, evaluates, and tests available Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The- Shelf (COTS) software packages to aid in the database creation and maintenance.
• Ensures all security vulnerabilities are mitigated and that appropriate security databases are updated with mitigation actions.
• Follows accepted project life-cycle and configuration management (CM) practices to monitor critical steps for major program enhancement projects, implementation, and recovery.
