Process Development Manager

About the role:

Our first Process Development Manager at Very Good will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving upon Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the organization.  The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in process improvement methodologies, and the ability to communicate effectively across all teams and levels.

Compensation:

$65,000 - $115,000 per year

Key responsibilities:

Develop and Implement SOPs

  • Design and document comprehensive SOPs for various business functions to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations.
  • Collaborate with team leads to identify key processes and workflows that require standardization and improvement.
  • Establish guidelines and best practices for creating and maintaining SOPs.

Process Analysis and Optimization

  • Conduct thorough analysis of current processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Utilize process mapping and improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to redesign workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Implement process changes and monitor outcomes to ensure they achieve desired improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with different teams, including Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance/Engineering, to ensure SOPs are effectively integrated and followed.
  • Identify key employee training needs across teams, and work with leads to develop training programs.
  • Provide training and support to teams on new SOPs and process changes.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all SOPs meet regulatory, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Regularly review and update SOPs to reflect changes in business operations or regulatory requirements.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of SOPs and process improvements.

About you:

  • 3+ years of experience in process development, continuous improvement, or a related operations role.
  • Proven experience with SOP development and process documentation.
  • Advanced communication skills. Ability to translate technical or complicated processes into clear, concise instructions for diverse audiences.
  • Proactive & self-motivated. You don’t wait for instructions; you take initiative to identify and solve problems.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and approach to everyday operations.
