Business Analyst (Mitigation)

In this Business Analyst (Mitigation) position, you will serve as a Business Analyst in the Mitigation Division, Region 9, supporting the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supporting program staff with implementation and financial management activities for grant programs.
  • Assisting in the review of mitigation grant applications for completeness.
  • Monitoring periods of performance for awards determine expiration dates and follow up actions.
  • Assisting in quarterly financial performance reviews, tracking trends and patterns, and developing various reports for appropriate staff.
  • Performing a variety of miscellaneous technical, clerical, planning, and administrative duties, including: maintaining and updating office files, maintaining files on items for action and follow up, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintaining budget records and accurate electronic files on the financial status of regional mitigation grant programs and disasters.

To qualify for this Business Analyst (Mitigation) position at the IC-07 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-05 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Preparing computer-generated reports including spreadsheets and word processing for analysis; and
  2. Applying fact-finding techniques to research and validate data; and
  3. Writing and/or editing technical materials or reports

OR

  • 1 full year of graduate level education; or
  • Superior academic achievement

OR
Combination of education and experience.
