Nursing Aid

May - July 2020 • Boston, MA

What I liked

What I enjoyed most about having this job over the summer was being able to help out in the hospitals during the pandemic. I worked on COVID units throughout the hospital so I was grateful that I was able to help out during these difficult times

What I wish was different

Advice

Although it may be scary to put yourself at risk during these times, I think it is important to do what you feel comfortable with. I am going into the nursing work force in less than a year so I think that this experience helped me grow and develop, as well as learn more about the hospital setting during pandemics.

Endocrinology Clinical Research Coordinator

June - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

My PI was phenomenal, and experiencing a different area of study, a different level of research in a very different part of the country were all very educational aspects of this job.

What I wish was different

I wish I had known what exactly I would be able to do within my time constraint (only being there 2-3 months) because there are a lot of responsibilities I wasn't able to take on simply because there wasn't enough time to complete the training or make the amount of training worth it. I also would have liked to know how to best go about finding housing in the area.

Advice

This job would be best for someone who has already graduated or is planning on taking at least 6 months off from school, is able to work full time and LOVES clinical research. And go to Mike's. As much as possible. :)
