I love working with kids. Working parks and recreation especially during summer is so fun. We go on field trips and get to do any activities we would like to with our group of kids.
What I wish was different
I do wish we went on more field trips, and we were under staffed.
Advice
This is an awesome filler job. It is definitely a meantime job but gets your foot in the door if you would like to work within the city. When working with kids, you need to be patient and open minded. It is definitely a lot of work emotionally and physically working in these free lunch based areas and it easy to get caught up in it all. Remember the kids are there to have fun and do not take anything the kids do personally. They are growing after all and it’s summertime.

I like going to work knowing that I’m helping the community. It’s rewarding to hear from the public that they appreciate our services. I also like that that my job works around my school schedule.e You

There’s nothing that I would change about my job.
Advice
If you’re having a bad day make sure not to bring the bad day to work. You are there helping out the community and making sure they feel welcomed. If you’re not in a good mood it can potentially push people away from the services/programs we do offer.
