Tremco CPG Inc.

Organizational Effectiveness Intern

May - August 2019 • Beachwood, OH

What I liked

The OE team are a great group. Each of the five of them are a wealth of HR knowledge and I learned so much from them that I otherwise would not have learned in the classroom. This was my first corporate experience and I had a deluge of questions every day that they took the time to thoroughly answer. The work load was good and kept me busy all the time. I learned the full life cycle of recruiting: resume review, phone interview, job offer, and entering new employees into the HRIS. The other interns were fantastic to be around too!

What I wish was different

This is not the internship program's fault, but there was no space left so I was in a different area than the rest of the team and couldn't learn by just listening to their conversations and gleaning information from them.

Advice

Even if you have no corporate, or HR experience, the team will teach you, and make sure all your questions are answered. This is not only an internship, but a job. Think of this as a 3-month interview.

Purchasing and Forecasting Intern

May 2019 • Beachwood, OH

What I liked

I have had a couple of internships under my belt but the culture at Tremco has been the best yet. Anytime I have a question, theres always someone lending a helping hand. This internship has challenged me in many ways and I am able to apply what I am learning in the classroom to what is expected of me during my internship. My supervisor has made me feel as if I am another employee and has helped me gain an insight on day to day operations of the company.

What I wish was different

Tremco has a summer internship program with around 30 interns who work full-time in and out of the field. However, most of them leave in August to go back to school. That leaves only a few of us left in the office when school is resumed. I wish there were more people around the interns age to be able to connect with.

Advice

A lot of opportunities will arise for you to network with other individuals within the company whether its community service or being involved in a unique project. I would say get involved in as much as you can to build those relationships with people from different divisions of the company. I have met so many people within the past 6 months and have gained so much real world experience that I would have never thought would have been possible as an intern.

Chemical Engineering Intern

May - August 2018 • Cleveland, OH

What I liked

I enjoyed the responsibility that I would have during my term. There were multiple projects that I would work on at a time, so time management was a skill that I improved on after my time with Tremco. Also, the environment and experiences were very enjoyable.

What I wish was different

I wish that some of the projects would be able to be done faster. Some projects took longer since work needed to be done outside the scope of my work.

Advice

I would recommend not being intimidated by the manufacturing setting and to always ask questions if something is hard to understand.
