“The program was set up so that approximately 15 students from diverse backgrounds live and study oceanographic sciences together the entire summer in Woods Hole. The first month is dedicated to learning about the extensive Woods Hole community's facilities and institutions, as well as taking a diverse course on oceanographic sciences. The second half of the program included a personal, in-depth research project at one of the various town's institutions. Presenting our work to the Woods Hole community at the end of the program was very helpful in learning presentation and public speaking skills, as well as synthesizing data. ”
