Deli Clerk

June - September 2020 • Mukwonago, WI

What I liked

The flexibility of the schedual and the friendliness of management.

What I wish was different

The application/hiring process took far longer than it should have for a job that only had one interview stage.

Advice

Don't under-sell yourself. I went to this job with restaurant experience which was applicable and ended up getting starting pay because I did not ask for more in the interview. I know that if I would have pushed for more with my experience I would have been making above their starter pay.

Grocery clerk

July 2018 • Cincinnati, OH

What I liked

The people are all extremely amenable and make coming into work worth it

What I wish was different

The safety regulations could be improved, via ensuring that all employees are constantly wearing masks and instituting stronger distancing protocol, though the administration has certainly been making a concerted effort to keep everyone safe

Advice

I think it's a good job but you definitely have to be in control of your own safety when it comes to COVID. It is also necessary to constantly be ready to adapt your knowledge of the practices involved in your responsibilities, as Kroger has been in the process of renovating its departments since I joined
